Police K9s Honored as They Retire from Service at DAY

Two Airport Police K9s were recently presented commemorative plaques honoring them for their service to Dayton International Airport. As airport K9s, Kan and Fara worked with their human partners to detect hazards in the terminal, baggage, and cargo, keeping passengers and staff safe.

Seven Years of Service

Both served from 2017-2024 and took on challenging assignments, including presidential campaign security details, bomb threat responses at schools and businesses, and preemptive sweeps for high-profile events like the First Four at University of Dayton Arena. They are both enjoying well-earned retirements in loving homes.
