3 Reasons Orlando is the Ultimate Vacation Destination

Choose Your Own Orlando Adventure

If you are looking for exhilaration and elation, you definitely need to visit Orlando for your next vacation. Also known as the “entertainment capital of the world,” this city is the most-visited destination on the globe with over 70 million visitors a year. Orlando is home to five of the 10 most visited theme parks in the world, so you will have more than enough attractions to choose from. To help you plan out your trip, here are three great reasons to go.

1. Walt Disney World

When thinking of Orlando, Disney is often the first image that comes to mind. You could spend your entire vacation here alone considering the enormous number of activities, gorgeous resorts, and fantastic dining options. The most popular park is in the resort is Magic Kingdom. This park has more attractions than any other Disney park option (Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios) and has been the most visited park in the world for the last 12 years. To make the most of this park, it is recommended that visitors divide their time in Magic Kingdom into two days. Day one could be devoted to Fantasy Land and Adventure Land and day two could be focused on Tomorrow Land, Liberty Square, and Frontier. To get the full experience of Disney, travelers should also allot three more days for Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and time to relax in their beautiful resorts.

2. Kennedy Space Center

Visiting Kennedy Space Center is an absolute necessity for those who appreciate science, space, or astronomy. In addition to an incredible visitor center, Kennedy Space Center conducts research and even launches rockets here as well. Visitors can train in an astronaut training simulator, learn how to land a space shuttle, see real spacecraft, and take the shuttle launch experience. Additionally, this complex is the only place in the world where you can walk under and experience the largest rocket ever built: the Saturn V, the machine that took the first astronauts to the moon.

Occasionally astronauts from Space Shuttle Atlantis make an appearance. They answer questions, eat lunch with visitors, and give presentations about their experiences in space. Last, and most importantly, travelers can time their visit around live launches. A few times a year, NASA launches rockets and allows the public to observe from a distance. Watching a live launch is awe-inspiring and it is certainly an experience to be remembered for a lifetime. For information about admission, viewing locations, and times, check out this article.

3. Universal Orlando

For movie-lovers who also enjoy roller coasters, this theme park is a must. Universal Orlando consists of two different parks: Universal Studios and Island of Adventure, so it is recommended visitors allot one full day for each park. In addition to rides and experiences, Universal Studios features food, shops, and characters such as Minions and Shrek interacting with park visitors as well as street productions where singers and dancers perform numbers based on top movies. Universal specializes in screen-based rides that immerse visitors in popular movies through the use of large screens, 3D effects, and rides that simulate how it would feel to actually be in the movie.
