With all the exciting changes at the Dayton International Airport, you may be wondering what’s next. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the renderings and progress photos from the first phase of the Terminal Modernization Project.
Terminal Interior
New terrazzo tiles will feature patterns from airplanes that were either invented, tested, built, procured, or flown at Huffman Prairie Flying Field and its aeronautical successors in Dayton and/or Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
South Entrance
The front glass walls will showcase more natural light and create a welcoming, calming atmosphere for traveling passengers.
Rental Car Building
The new addition will be conveniently located adjacent to the existing parking garage structure across from the terminal entrance.
New Restrooms/USO
Glass tiles and water efficient fixtures will ensure sustainability goals remain a major focus of the modernization efforts. The United Service Organizations (USO) will be relocated adjacent to the new restrooms and will open mid-summer to continue serving military families.
